The noise mode suppresses background noise. In addition to volume control the rocker switch is used to switch between listening modes. Yes, in either listening mode, you can still adjust the volume by quickly tapping the upper or lower portion of the rocker switch. As you increase/decrease the volume, you will hear a single beep for each sound level. Also, when you reach the highest/lowest level of volume, you will hear three (3) beeps indicating you’ve reached the minimum/maximum volume.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Does Tweak remember which mode and volume level I used last?”]When you power on Tweak, it will start out in the Quiet program, at the amplification level you locked in previously.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How do I power off Tweak?”]To extend the battery life, turn off your Tweak by opening the battery door whenever the device is not in use. Do the opposite when you’re ready to use the device. Close the battery door and Tweak is powered on and ready to use. Remember, it will start out in the Quiet program, at the amplification level you locked in previously.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”The thin tube is too small for me. Are other sizes available?”]Your Tweak includes two standard thin tubes (size 2B) for left and right along with a variety of domes. (See page 6 in the user manual for included components.) The pack contains the most commonly used components.
When properly placed on the ear, the curve of the thin tube should rest on top of your ear comfortably, even with glasses. The tubing will continue to lay close to the head around the front of the ear and into the ear canal. Check this by moving your finger down the tubing, into the ear. If the tip doesn’t stay in your ear, you may need a different length thin tube.
It’s very important for the tube and tip to fit your ear properly. Additional sizes of tubes and tips are available on this site or by calling 1-888-815-3240.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Battery size and average battery life?”]Tweak uses a commonly found size 312 zinc-air battery. It’s powerful, yet small and economical.
Average battery life: 5 to 7 days
Replacement batteries are sold here.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Which tip should I use when first setting up my Tweak?”]Your Tweak includes two standard thin tubes (size 2B) for left and right along with a variety of domes. You should try the sleeve tip (gray sleeve tip) first. If you get feedback or whistling, change to a more closed tip. Also try decreasing the volume.
It is important for the sound tube and tip to fit properly in your ear. If you need a different size tip or tube, call 1-888-815-3240 or assistance.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Can my Tweak device get wet?”]No. Moisture is the number one enemy of hearing instruments. It can damage the microphone and other components, resulting in costly repairs. Don’t wear the device while taking a bath, shower, spa treatment or while swimming. (See page 24 of the user manual for a list of Do’s and Don’ts.)
We recommend the daily use of a TweakDry UV drying appliance. These dryers are available on the TweakHearing site.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”There’s no sound or it’s not loud enough.”]Ensure that the battery door is closed.
Replace the battery.
Make sure the tip/dome is not clogged.
Make sure the amplifier case and tubing are clean and dry.
Make sure that the amplifier case is positioned properly behind the ear, and that the tip/dome is positioned properly in the ear canal.
Make sure the volume is turned up, by tapping the upper portion of the rocker switch.
Excessive ear wax can prevent sound from entering the ear. Contact your physician.
You may need a dome tip. Remove the sleeve tip and install one of the dome tips instead.
Changes in your hearing can affect how you hear with Simply Tweak. Contact a hearing healthcare professional if you suspect any change in your hearing condition.
Your Tweak may need to be reset. See page 25 in the manual for instructions.[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”My Tweak is ‘whistling’.”]Your Tweak device has a feedback management system. However, when your hand is near the device, you may hear a whistling noise, which is called “feedback”. This may be caused by amplified sound bouncing off your hand back into the instrument. The noise usually quits when you take your hand away.
If the whistling doesn’t stop once you’ve moved your hand away, ensure that the amplifier case is positioned properly behind the ear, and that the tip is positioned properly in the ear canal.
Try adjusting the volume. Tap the lower portion of the rocker switch to decrease volume.
Instead of the sleeve tip, consider using one of the more closed domes.
If the above fails to reduce feedback, call Tweak Support at 1-888-815-3240.[/vc_toggle][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” css=”.vc_custom_1528744969339{margin-bottom: 0px !important;background-color: #ffffff !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}” el_id=”setup”][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1528743241728{padding-top: 46px !important;}”][vc_custom_heading text=”Preparing for Use” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:38px|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1563298153120{margin-bottom: 10px !important;}”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Tweak comes with two standard tubes (size 2B, left and right). Tubes are marked with blue lettering for the left ear and red lettering for the right ear. (B=Blue=Left. R=Red=Right) There are a variety of tips included with your Tweak. The dark-colored sleeve tip will work for most users. However, for more bass sound use a vented or closed dome.
When choosing the proper tip, the goal is to get a fit that is comfortable and secure enough to keep tip in the ear. Larger tips will create a more snug fit and increase the bass sounds (lower frequencies) and reduce feedback.
Connecting the Thin Tube to the Amplifier
Choose either the left or right sound tube. Align the sound tube connector end with the sound post on the amplifier. Twist the tube clockwise onto the sound post until it’s snug.
Connecting Tip with Tube
Choose the tip to use with the thin tube. Align the tip with the end of the sound tube and push the tip straight on.
If you want more bass sound, remove the sleeve tip and attach one of the dome tips. The tips push on and pull off the tube. If you change the tip, be sure it is securely fastened to the sound tube before inserting it in your ear.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”2491″ img_size=”large”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”stretch_row” css=”.vc_custom_1528744954052{margin-bottom: 0px !important;background-color: #ffffff !important;background-position: center !important;background-repeat: no-repeat !important;background-size: cover !important;}” el_id=”use”][vc_column css=”.vc_custom_1528743234854{padding-top: 46px !important;}”][vc_custom_heading text=”Inserting a Battery” font_container=”tag:h2|font_size:38px|text_align:left” use_theme_fonts=”yes” css=”.vc_custom_1563298171233{margin-bottom: 10px !important;}”][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
