Where can I buy replacement tips and tubes for Tweak Connect?

The tube and dome/tip need to be changed periodically, typically 2 or 3 times per year. When the tube or dome/tip become soft, discolored, kinked or damaged, obtain replacements at TweakHearing.com or by calling 1-888-815-3240.

Is Tweak Connect a hearing aid?
Tweak Connect is an advanced personal sound amplification product – “PSAP” as defined by the United States Food and Drug Administration – that pairs the sophisticated sound processing and easy personalization of Tweak amplification products with the most intuitive app on the market.

PSAPs are intended for non-hearing impaired consumers to amplify sounds in the environment for a number of reasons, such as for recreational activities. PSAPs are not intended to compensate for impaired hearing or to diagnose, treat, cure or mitigate disease.

The TweakConnect device utilizes the same electrical components found in advanced hearing aids.

  • Sound quality – Full and natural, the result of highest quality components driven by exceptional audio engineering. So, it’s a combination of both hardware and software decisions.
  • Digital technology – Delivers amplification only where you want it, automatic feedback control to prevent whistling, and fast-acting compression to improve audibility of soft sounds and softens sudden loud sounds.
  • Personalized amplification – So unique that it’s patented. You can try out different amplification profiles and then lock in what you like best. From that point forward TweakConnect remembers your settings, so you can just “set it and forget it”.
  • Fine tuning – Once you’ve set your overall amplification preferences, you still have a volume control to further adapt to different situations. This is a rare combination, never before seen in a PSAP until the Tweak line was launched.
Should I buy one or two PSAPs?
There are benefits to wearing a PSAP on each ear. The brain processes sound coming from both ears. Among other benefits, amplification in both ears helps in background noise, improves sound clarity, and localization (the direction a sound is coming from).

Remember, you have a 30 day risk-free trial. You can try two devices, and if you decide you want to return one, you’re free to do so as long as its within the 30-day window.

Where can I find the TweakConnect app?
The TweakConnect smart phone app is a free download with the purchase of the instrument. The TweakConnect app can be downloaded at the App Store or Play Store.

– instruction manual, quick start guide, and warranty card
– thin tube accessories pack: two common size 2B thin tubes (left and right), one sleeve tip, two 9mm vented domes (already attached to tubes), one 12mm vented dome, two closed domes (9mm and 12mm), five cleaning lines

What size battery does TweakConnect use?
TweakConnect uses a 312 (brown tab) battery. With full-time use, the battery will last approximately 5 to 7 days.

For your convenience, TweakConnect warns you when the battery is almost depleted. You will hear a voice prompt “low battery” which indicates it’s time to change the battery.

When the battery is depleted, remove and replace it immediately. When not in use, be sure to turn off your TweakConnect by opening the battery door part way.

How will I know when the battery is low?
For your convenience, TweakConnect warns you when the battery is almost depleted. You will hear a voice prompt “low battery” which indicates it’s time to change the battery.

When the battery is depleted, remove and replace it immediately. When not in use, be sure to turn off your TweakConnect by opening the battery door part way.

When I remove the foil tab from a fresh battery, is it ready to use?
The TweakConnect devices use zinc-air batteries which use air as an energy source. Once the foil top is removed, let the battery “breathe” for a couple of minutes before placing it in the device. The air and battery contents react to charge the battery.
How can I tell if a tube is for the right or left ear?
The thin tubes are marked with red lettering for the right ear and blue lettering for the left ear.
What if I need a different size tip or tube?
Since the thin tube delivers amplified sound from TweakConnect into the ear, it’s important for the thin tube and dome/tip to fit properly in the ear. Your TweakConnect comes with a variety of tube types, dome types and sizes. Also, keep in mind the tube and tip/dome should be changed periodically, typically 2 or 3 times per year. When the tube or tip become soft, discolored, kinked or damaged, it’s time to replace them.

If you need a different size, other thin tube lengths and dome/tip sizes are available at TweakHearing.com or by calling 1-888-815-3240. You can purchase replacements as well.

I'm not fully satisfied, can I return it?
TweakConnect comes with a 100% money back guarantee for the first 30 days after purchase. You may return your product to Tweak Hearing for any reason within the first 30 days to receive a refund of the purchase price excluding any shipping, handling or delivery charges.
Can I stream music or other audio through the TweakConnect device?
While Bluetooth is used by the device and app, it’s utilized for programming the device. Streaming audio is not an option with TweakConnect.
Can I adjust the volume?
Yes, even after you have “locked in” your listening preferences, you still have flexibility to quickly adapt to different environments. The volume can be adjusted through the app or using the rocker switch on the device.

Using your smartphone: open the TweakConnect app. Select Volume Control from the Main Menu. Move the sliders to adjust the volume, then select “Done.”

Adjusting the volume on the TweakConnect instrument: quickly tap the upper portion of the rocker switch to increase the volume. With each tap of the rocker switch you will hear a confirmation beep as you increase or decrease the volume level.

Whichever method used, you will hear a confirmation beep as the volume is increased/decreased. The volume is increased/decreased in 3 dB increments. You will also be notified when you reach the maximum or minimum volume.

Can the TweakConnect be reset?
Yes. After wearing TweakConnect, you may decide you want to try a different amplification profile than you initially selected. However, if you simply want more bass sound, remove the sleeve tip and attach one of the dome tips instead. This may resolve the issue and resetting is no longer necessary.

TweakConnect may be reset by selecting the “Start Over” option on the Main Menu of the app.

When I "start over" or reset my devices, does it matter which instrument is used for left or right?
Yes, it matters. Although you’re starting over, the app remembers which device belongs to which ear. In other words, the left device remains for the left ear; right device is for the right ear.
Does the device come with a manufacturer's warranty?
The manufacturer‘s warranty period is 6 months.

This warranty covers any defect in material or faulty production, specifically excluding batteries, tips, and tubes. Any and all warranties are invalidated if the TweakConnect instrument has been tampered with or altered in any way, if the serial number has been altered or removed, or if any repairs have been made without authorization. The manufacturer reserves the right to repair or replace the instrument or any defective part, at manufacturer’s expense, within the limits of the warranty.

This warranty does not include a promise of specific listening improvement. Warranty service must only be performed by an authorized service center. Service performed by any unauthorized personnel voids all warranties. If service is needed call 1-888-815-3240.

How can I extend the warranty?
Moisture is the number one enemy of all PSAPs. The manufacturer of TweakConnect recommends daily use of a Dry & Store appliance to care for your new PSAP.

A 6-month warranty extension (minimum value $125) is provided at no charge with the user’s validated purchase and regular use of a Dry & Store appliance.

These products may be purchased through TweakHearing.com or visit dryandstore.com

See the warranty card for complete details.

I wear glasses. Can I still use the TweakConnect?
Sure, most users who wear eyeglasses can still wear TweakConnect comfortably. The arm of the glasses should rest close to your head. The sound tube and device will fit the space between the arm of your glasses and your ear.
What should I do if the TweakConnect app freezes while I'm programming the device?
If the app should freeze while you’re still programming the device, it will be necessary to start over.

First, turn off the TweakConnect device you’re currently programming by opening the battery door. Wait 10 seconds then close the battery door to power on the device. The app should recognize the device and continue with programming.

If the steps above do not allow you to start programming again, try the following. Turn off the device (if programming two devices, turn off both) by opening the battery door. Close the TweakConnect app then restart the app. Follow the prompts on the screen, closing the device battery door when specified and continue to program the device(s).

If you’re still having trouble with the app and/or device(s), turn off the device(s) and close the app.
On your iPhone, go to Settings > Bluetooth. Below MY DEVICES there will be one (possibly two) devices named “L200B”. Beside each of these at the far right, you will see the “i” (Information icon). Touch the blue “i” and the options for the device will appear. At the top of the screen, select “Forget This Device”. When prompted to confirm this action, select “Forget Device” again (at the bottom of the screen). Remember to do this for both devices if you’re programming two. Close Settings.

On your Android, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth. Tap Bluetooth, it shows Paired devices there will be one (possibly two) devices named “L200B”. Beside each of these at the far right, you will see a gear. Touch the gear and the options for the device will appear, select Unpair (or Forget). Remember to do this for both devices if you’re programming two. Close Settings.

Restart the TweakConnect app. Follow the prompts on the screen, closing the battery door when instructed and continue to program the device(s).

Lastly, follow the instructions in step 3 above, adding an additional step. After you’ve “forgotten” the devices in Bluetooth Settings, delete the TweakConnect app from your smart phone. Reinstall it from The App Store or Play Store then launch the app and start programming.

When beginning to program the devices, should I power on both devices at the same time?
If both devices are powered on at once, the app will lock onto one device which may or may not be the one you intended to program first. For example, you may be programming the right ear device when your intention is to program the left. Remember to power on one device at a time and only when prompted to do so by the app.
I hear a funny sound when switching to program 3 (Telecoil). Is this normal?
When you change to the Telecoil setting, you will hear a temporary humming sound which will diminish within 5-10 seconds. This is normal.
When I power on my devices, which program and volume level do they start in?
When powered on, the devices will start in Program 1 (Quiet) at 70% volume – no matter where they were set when turned off.
